Early life and career of Narendra Modi
Narendra Modi was born on September 17, 1950. His mother's name was Hiraben and father's name was Damodaradas Modi. Narendra Modi made a minor start in his life. The third child among the six brothers, Modi helped in selling tea with his father and his brother in his early years. He completed his studies in a small town, Vadnagar in Gujarat. Even after his schooling years and immediately after that he sold tea to the soldiers during Indo-Pak war.Modi's first glimpse as a great speaker was seen in the years of his schooling. In 1988, he became the organizing secretary of Gujarat's Wing of the BJP, and gave victory to the party in the 1995 state elections. After this he was transferred as the National Secretary of BJP to New Delhi.
In 2001, when Keshubhai Patel was the then Chief Minister of Gujarat, senior BJP leaders chose Modi as the Chief Ministerial candidate. He became the Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2001 and has been re-elected chief minister four times for his work skills.
The fact is that his remarkable and undeniable performance in Gujarat forced him to sit in the top benches of BJP in New Delhi so that he could be posted as the candidate of the party's prime minister in the 2014 elections. Along with that, he became the 14th Prime Minister of India in 2014.
